Korreshi denounces: Armed people are intimidating citizens at polling stations

The Democratic Party candidate in Lushnja, Saimir Korreshi, has made a strong accusation about the situation in this municipality during the May 11 voting process. In a statement to the media, Korreshi said that armed groups are appearing in some voting centers trying to intimidate citizens.

"They are armed in the centers, every time a car they don't recognize enters, they put their hands in. I have sent it to the chief of the police station. I faced 3 groups, they are not even from the area. We have them with faces, with cars, with everything. When trying to enter, one of them puts his hand in his knapsack. There is a Golf and a Benz, neither of them is from Lushnja," declared Korreshi.

He stressed that these individuals are engaging in a form of patronage in the centers, stalking and intimidating any citizen they don't know. "Every car is engaging in patronage, they try to intimidate anyone they don't know," he added.

This statement comes amid a series of denunciations by the opposition of irregularities and pressure during the electoral process, while tensions in some areas, including Lushnja, have also led to physical clashes between commissioners and temporary suspensions of voting.
