Giro d'Italia in Vlora, Police publish list of blocked roads

The third and final stage of the prestigious international race "Giro d'Italia 2025" taking place in Albania will be held today, May 11, in the city of Vlora. Cyclists are expected to start pedaling at around 1:15 PM from the Lungomare area, where the team warm-up will take place, before the race officially starts at KM 0 on "Demokracia" street.

The race route includes a panoramic journey through Kota, Brataj, Qeparo and Porto Palermo, to continue to Himara and then return from Qafa e Llogarasë towards Orikum. The race concludes at around 17:26 on “Sadik Zotaj” street, in the city of Vlora.

Police with strict security measures and traffic restrictions

The Vlora Police have drawn up a detailed plan of measures for the smooth running of the activity, warning of traffic restrictions, parking bans and traffic diversions on several city axes and interurban roads.

Among the main areas where parking and traffic are prohibited are:

Grand Square – Lungomare: Parking ban from 15:00 on May 10 to 18:00 on May 11.
“Shaban Demiraj” Street and surrounding segments: Parking and traffic ban from 05:00 on May 10 to 14:15 on May 11. Traffic will be diverted to “Pelivan Leskaj” Street.
“Veledin Kollozi”, “Reshat Osmani”, “Mustafa Bello”, “Laze Malo” Street and other areas around the boulevard and Lungomare will be closed to traffic and parking throughout May 11, until 23:00. The
“Rrethi i Skelës – Aleksandria Street” segment, as well as “Kosova”, “Perlat Rexhepi”, “Pilo Begaj” and “Fiqirete Musta” streets will be used as diversion routes for traffic.
Access to emergencies and vital services

During the race, access will be guaranteed for emergency services and the State Police. Access to the Vlora Regional Hospital will be possible between 11:00 and 13:30 through the designated axes:

Transbalkanike – Officers' House – Kapelja –
Pusi i Mezinit Hospital – Rruga e Re – Kapelja –
Uji i Ctohtë Hospital – Power Plant – Cement Factory – Kuzumbaba – Municipality – Hospital
Restrictions also on interurban roads

Traffic will also be prohibited on interurban axes connecting Vlora with surrounding villages and coastal areas:

Vlorë – Vlorë river villages: From 11:00 to 14:30
Qeparo – Vlorë: From 10:30 to 15:45
Vlorë – Himarë (to Qeparo): From 12:30 to 17:30
Qeparo – Himarë – Vlorë: From 13:30 to 16:00
All vehicles that violate the announced restrictions will be removed by tow truck, in accordance with the law, and will be temporarily located in the area of the former airfield.
