The Allies will not land

The Allies will not land

Edwin Cami

Today is the time for all of us to find ways to speak and express ourselves, to communicate and convey messages to people, and to talk to each other. This is necessary for the protection of freedom, and these 33 years of history have shown us that freedom is not something that we enjoy by ourselves, but that requires constant care and sacrifice to protect it.

If a society loses freedom, everything is lost. This is not just a slogan.

Notice! Since the Socialist Party came back to rule this country about 11 years ago, after crushing through crime the freedom of our citizens to vote freely, it started step by step limiting and even destroying the welfare of citizens, mocking and disregarding the sweat and of their blood, destroying their homes, businesses, properties.

So if you are a citizen who has had your house demolished or property nationalized, know that this happens because the government is no longer afraid of your vote. If you are a citizen whose government monopolies and crime economy are ruining your business, know that this is because the government is no longer afraid of your vote. If you are a citizen-facing unaffordable prices or an abandoned farmer whose crops are left in the field, know that this happens because the government is no longer afraid of your vote. If you are a citizen who risks prison because you don't have to pay for the energy, know that this happens because the government is not afraid of your vote.

If you are a citizen who, faced with this situation, has seen your sons, daughters, grandsons, and granddaughters leave the country and emigrate, know that this happens because the government is no longer afraid of your vote. If you are a citizen who still receives a salary in the state administration or if you are a teacher in pre-university education and if you have not been fired yet, they force you to shut up like in 1989 and spread "likes" and flattery on social networks for Party and government propaganda, no doubt you know that this happens because the government is no longer afraid of your vote. And if you are none of these and remain silent, then know that tomorrow will be your turn.

The propaganda of the Socialist Party, which is not only broadcast through television and social networks but which is also whispered in the ears of the citizens through patron Nazis disguised as objective people who have reborn the State Security, has worked and is working to blunt any reaction yours, to demotivate your participation in elections and protests, as they tell you in your ear, in coffee, on the bus that in this country, the government is decided by the internationals and not by the Albanians.

Thus, you were once told that the internationals have decided to leave the power once to one and once to the other, eight years to the DP and eight years to the SP. And those who believed this waited until they saw that after eight years had passed, the government of the Socialist Party was still in power. It was whispered that the internationals have decided to rule over you with new people and remove the old ones. Those who believed in this waited and waited until today when he saw Edi Rama as he wrinkled, grayed, and grew old in power. The happiness of the internationals did not seem to have been spoiled.

You were told that the internationals would do justice; they would remove the so-called old and corrupt class from politics to bring them to justice, but today, you see that those who are isolated and investigated are the leaders of the opposition and the internal enemies of the Party. Of the government, while the prime minister himself rules calmly and safely, and the new international justice has turned into a reborn popular court, administered even by people from the State Security.

Those oppositionists who still expect the problems of the Albanians to be solved by the internationals are as tragic as those who, in 1945, were full of hope and waiting for the landing of the Anglo-American allies to free Albania from the communists. Therefore, dear citizens dissatisfied with your situation, do not expect in vain that the allies will not land; the internationals have neither the need nor the desire to deal with your problems but are here for their problems. Only the citizens of this country can change their situation, and no one else can do it for them.

And change begins and ends with freedom. So, let this protest serve as a spark to start the change within us! Also, let this protest, with such a significant presence, serve to convey the message to those individuals from the international community who think they can say and do whatever they want in this country that Albania cannot be a "Lebensraum" for them, since we, the citizens of this country, stand for the sovereignty of the country and the opposition. As was chanted in the first anti-communist protests in former Eastern Europe, "Wir sind das Volk," we are the people!
