From the podium to the lists: DP, was it opened or closed?

From the podium to the lists: DP, was it opened or closed?

by Marcel Lela

The first slogan of Sali Berisha's platform was: 'More open. Stronger. More united'. If you list the two terms that have been circulating the most these days in and around the DP, it can easily be said that they are 'open' and 'closed', referring to the candidate's position on the lists.

The slogan today, therefore, would revolve around "the open and the 'closed'. Everyone today wanted to be 'closed' and not 'open' on Berisha's list. In this sense, it seems that the DP has made a detour. This does not mean that another path and journey has not been opened. Whatever it may be. But, as things are today, that is how they seem.

The tension in the Democratic Party seems frozen, like an iceberg about to hit someone, somewhere. This is partly because, despite warming to the idea of power, everyone wants to be 'safe-closed'.

Ironically for some of the Democrats, it seems especially the fact that they will have Mesila Doda and Shpëtim Idrizi in the next Parliament. Two sure deputies...of Rama.

Equally ironic is the fact that the list of 'closed' candidates is as close as a dozen drops of water to the parliamentary group of 2013. With one difference... this current one is the jewel of the reserves of that time. Remove Coach Berisha and cheerleader Jozefina.

What the Democratic leader promised several times, and in several forms, the presence of young people, continues to be no more than the echo of a good idea.

Floriana Garo, for example, among the few individuals who dared to leave society and join the party and Berisha in the days of doom, will not be "included" in this list.

To return to the slogan, which seemed to be the solemn promise of Berisha of the Pulpit, 'more open', remained only a need of the past, but not a desire of the future. The DP seemed to unite in the end when the orchestra of lists was conceived, but this is only the temporary strength of individual ambitions.

In the end, it must be said that this is not the end. Any list, no matter how good, would open up debate. Not being Schindler's list, perhaps it stands politically. But it lacks the helm of a ship that sees the shores of victory.

For this, as many Democrats believe, God willing, help…America.
