Today, May 11, Albania decides to elect a new parliament.

Voting begins as usual at 07:00 throughout the country and closes at 19:00. After this time, only those in line near the polling station will be able to vote. 5,225 polling stations have been set up throughout the country. 

For the first time, the diaspora is also voting in these elections, where 245,935 Albanian emigrants have registered to vote for the new Parliament.

The emigrant vote will be counted at the Central Election Commission and will be counted as if the citizen had voted in the district where he resided in Albania.

There are 11 political parties with 2,046 candidates in the race for the next parliament, to occupy 140 Assembly seats.

 The leader of the Socialist Party, Edi Rama, is seeking a fourth term, while the Democratic Party with its allies, led by Sali Berisha under the "Greater Albania" coalition, is seeking to return to power after 12 years in opposition. 

There are also 9 other entities in the race, Arlind Qori's Together Movement, Lulzim Basha's Euro-Atlantic Coalition, Tom Doshi's PSD, Albania Becomes, Lapaj-Shabani, AKSH, Elena Kocaqi, ADR, Edmond Stojku, Atdheu Party, Opportunity - Agron Shehaj, "Right for Development" Coalition - Shehi-Alibeaj, as follows:
