He once called him a thief and a criminal, today Vangjel Tavo joins Rama in the property robbery campaign
The elections in the Municipality of Himara, as early as May of last year, were accompanied by clashes, accusations that Prime Minister Edi Rama directed from the campaign to the opposition candidate, Fredi Beleri. Today, the latter is in prison serving a sentence for buying and selling votes, a charge that led to his imprisonment a few days before the elections.
However, Beler's arrest came after a whirlwind of insults and accusations that Rama directed at him.
In anticipation of the second elections that will be held on Sunday in Himara, Rama appeared alongside his candidate for Himara, Vangjel Tavos. From Himara, Rama has not spared his electoral promises, alongside the socialist candidate who once accused him of buying and selling votes.
Tavo's charges on April 27, 2021
Vangjel Tavo, the first on the LSI list in Gjirokastër, accused the Socialist Party and its leader Edi Rama of open buying and selling of votes and unequal conditions between candidates.
According to Tavos, Rama had offered up to 500 euros for one vote.
"I have served you with all my heart, and this has been the greatest pleasure in my public life. As you have witnessed, this battle which has just passed was under entirely unequal conditions. This is by no means an excuse, but a fact and a reality which it was seen by you. Consequently, the electoral victory was difficult to achieve. The price has increased. The money accumulated in the past years has taken its toll are wasted. I tell people to take the money that is stolen or drug money, but to throw the money where they think. The poor should have the money rather than those who have it," he declared at the time he.
Crash in April 2021
Rama responded to Tavo's accusations with his promiscuous language, the jargon that always accompanies him when an opponent addresses him.
"Vangjo, the breadwinner of father Likes and doctor Mona, remembers that he will buy votes again with envelopes and Greek pressure in Dropull" , addressed Rama.
On the other hand, Tavo called him wicked, without dignity and immoral.
"You wicked, you immoral, you indignity, you infidel! You are panicked about the expected loss and you are wandering around the cemeteries, lying to the dead, but the time of your regime is over" , said Tavo to Rama.
Tavo denies the accusations against Rama
Asked by Belind Kelliçi from a television studio why he decided to run alongside the one he once called an "thief" of the elections, Tavo claimed that he was running for the sake of Himara and the restoration of normality.
Conversation :
Kelliçi: I know you personally and appreciate your experience. But I cannot deny that your candidacy has been talked about for a long time. In 2021, we were together in the same coalition. I continue to think that your mandate in 2021 has been robbed.
Tavo: No, we were not in a coalition, I ran alone. Mr. Këlliçi, can you turn back 2021?
Kelliçi: You said that your mandate was stolen by the government. You nominated Edi Rama as the person who did it. 500 euros were paid for a vote against your candidacy. What drives you today to be the candidate of this prime minister who bought the 500 euro vote against you?
Tavo: I was pushed by Himara and the resolution of problems, crises and the restoration of normality. I am convinced that in the first months of my mandate, Himara, like other municipalities, will be in complete normality, citizens will receive services equally and will have representatives who will represent them decently, left, of the right, those who feel Greek and those who do not feel Greek.
Kelliçi: What prompted you to run for a person who bought votes against you?
Tavo: I accepted for a very important reason, compared to a run in Gjirokastër, which was the eighth in a row for me. I thought that the issues in Himara are very important and overcome the problems that may have been created in the past.
