Tragic landslide in Klos: Over 700 forces on the ground, search continues for

Around 500 volunteers, over 100 members of the Armed Forces, State Police employees and a specialized team from Kosovo are participating in the search for a 29-year-old man who went missing after a massive landslide in the Klos area.

The search has entered its fifth day, while the operation is taking place in extremely difficult conditions, due to the size of the landslide, which has covered a distance of about 2 kilometers and traces of soil have been found up to 6 kilometers from the scene.

The incident occurred on May 3, 2025, at around 2:30 p.m., in the “Qafës e Burrelit” area, near the chrome processing factory in the Klos municipality. According to the official announcement of the Ministry of Interior, the 29-year-old was working with an excavator for a private company when he was caught in a landslide and became trapped under the massif.

The forces engaged in the research include:

74 employees of the National Authority for Safety and Emergencies in Mines (AKSEM), with equipment such as thermal cameras and underground scanners;
115 Armed Forces personnel, including specialists from the Engineering Battalion and teams equipped with metal detectors;
24 State Police employees;
Medical emergency teams and 6 representatives of the National Agency for Natural Resources;
535 volunteers from the area and 2 excavators involved in the excavations;
