Bushati: SP today resembles a fascist party, Rama has no difference from

Political analyst Andi Bushati has made a strong statement regarding the political situation in the country, comparing the Socialist Party with a fascist party and Prime Minister Edi Rama with the Italian dictator Benito Mussolini.

In one of his analysis, Bushati said that the SP has lost all connection with left-wing values, and today it functions as an authoritarian organization in the service of a single individual.

"SP is no longer socialist, nor social-democratic nor left. Today it is more like a fascist party. The way Mussolini came to power has identical similarities to the violence against the opposition in Elbasan four years ago," Bushati said.

According to him, Edi Rama holds power through three main "pillars": oligarchs, criminal gangs and corrupt media.

"The SP has turned into a personal party that works only for the interests of a small group and not for the majority. These three pillars – oligarchs, gangs and the media – are the bases on which Rama's power is based," he declared.

Bushati also emphasized that this form of government is far from what Albanian citizens have aspired to before, warning of the danger of installing an authoritarian regime.
