Today, MPs will make another attempt to constitute the Kosovo Assembly. They are expected to gather in the plenary hall at 10 a.m., in the 13th consecutive attempt to elect the Assembly's presidency.

On Wednesday, for the 12th time, MPs failed to constitute the Assembly.

The constitutive session began on April 15th and since then only two agenda items have been passed.

The impasse has been created on the third point, which is the election of the Speaker of the Assembly.

Even in Wednesday's session, as in the last three, the Vetëvendosje Movement attempted to change the form of voting, from open to secret, but due to the lack of votes, the commission that was supposed to oversee this process was unable to be formed.

Deputies from PDK, LDK, AAK, Social Democratic Initiative and Serbian List did not participate in the vote on the formation of the Election Commission, which would oversee the secret ballot process for the Speaker of the Assembly. After the proceedings were interrupted, representatives of the two political camps accused each other of the impasse.

In the last four extensions of the constitutive session of the Assembly, the LVV proposal for Albulena Haxhiu as Speaker of Parliament has not been put to a vote, as the Speaker, Avni Dehari, interrupted the proceedings immediately after the failure to form a committee to conduct the secret ballot./Koha.net
