DP demands Veliaj's dismissal! Alimehmeti and Zhulali: Tirana municipal

Ilir Alimehtmeti and Ilda Zhulali, two members of the Tirana Municipal Council (Democratic Party), have demanded the dismissal of the Mayor, Erion Veliaj.

They have emphasized that this issue is no longer a political debate, but a moral and legal issue, aimed at restoring citizens' trust in the Tirana administration.

Through a direct speech in front of the municipality premises, Alimehtmet and Zhulati demanded that the Municipal Council meet and implement the law to correct this situation.

Zhulali also called on the citizens of Tirana to reflect on the reality of the current government and support a more responsible and just model.

Ilir Alimehtmeti:

"On Monday, we demand that the Municipal Council meet and implement the law. We must return to the connection and this issue, namely the dismissal of Erion Veliaj, is no longer a party or political discussion, but is a moral and political issue that we will do to restore the integrity and trust of citizens in the Municipality of Tirana."

Ilda Zhulali:

"I would invite the citizens of Tirana to reflect. What do we have today in Tirana? We have a local government model and an institution that has no head, but only limbs. This system has been condemned for corruption and prison conditions. Also, in this city today is also the central government, where everything will be done, there will be both a mayor and a prime minister.

Therefore, citizens should think and reflect and go vote against this model. This is not a governance model for citizens, it is not the way to handle their governance.

So I believe that together with Ilir we have shown, even these days, despite the electoral campaign, that we have come to do our duty as members of the Tirana Municipal Council, as responsible people who take governance seriously. This is our invitation for every citizen to do their duty. We have the power to make this reward for the Municipal Council for dismissing Veliaj and the citizens have the power to vote".
