SP candidate money in exchange for votes? Police prosecute the person who

The structures of the Korça Local Police Directorate have just become aware of a post on social networks where in two posted videos it was alleged that a candidate for deputy of the Socialist Party political entity was offering sums of money in exchange for votes to residents of the village of Podgorie-Maliq, and they immediately began work to verify the case.

As a result of the actions carried out under the direction of the Korça General Jurisdiction Prosecutor's Office, the Specialists of the Economic and Financial Crime Investigation Section at the Korça DVP, prosecuted for the criminal offenses "Actions that hinder the discovery of the truth", against citizen A. P, 34 years old, resident of Podgorie, Maliq, with a previous criminal record and convicted of criminal offenses in the field of production and sale of narcotics and crimes against the person.

From the investigative actions carried out, the checks and the statements taken from the citizens who appeared in these images and the candidate for deputy, citizen AJ, no illegal actions related to the buying and selling of votes were found.

Also, from the analysis of the footage and the verifications carried out, it results that citizen AP was the person who made the audio-video recording of the citizen who appears in those footage.

Citizen AP has refused to make the device with which he made this recording available to the Police for examination, thereby obstructing further investigations by law enforcement structures.

The materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Korça.

The Korça Local Police Directorate guarantees citizens and political entities that the Police structures are maximally committed to enforcing the law, preventing and cracking down on illegalities with the aim of creating an even safer environment.
