Electoral crimes, the Prosecutor's Office gives the balance: 54 criminal

The General Prosecutor's Office has today published an official balance sheet on criminal offenses related to the May 11 election process. As of May 9, a total of 54 criminal reports have been registered, of which 23 have been turned into criminal proceedings in the prosecutions with general jurisdiction in the country.

According to the announcement, the reports are related to offenses provided for by Articles 325–332/a of the Criminal Code and their sources are: State Police (27 cases), SPAK (9 cases), political subjects (7 cases), other institutions (9 cases) and ordinary citizens (2 cases).

The distribution of reports in the districts is as follows:

Tirana – 14 reports
Dibër – 9
Fier – 5
Elbasan – 5
Lezhë – 5
Saranda – 3
Durrës – 3
Kukes – 3 Gjirokastra – 2

Vlora – 2
Shkodra – 2
Korça – 1
Meanwhile, 23 criminal proceedings have been registered for offenses such as electoral corruption, illegal influence on voters, violation of the secrecy of the vote, etc. More specifically:

Fier – 5 proceedings
Elbasan – 4
Saranda – 2
Shkodra – 2
Dibër – 2
Gjirokastra – 2
Lezhë – 2
Durres, Kukes, Korça and Vlora – 1 proceedings each
