On the eve of the parliamentary elections on May 11, the State Police has announced a detailed plan of measures to guarantee public order and security throughout the electoral process.

According to the official announcement, the operational plan includes around 7,600 police officers, namely 6,838 uniformed officers and 813 Crime Investigation specialists, who are committed to guaranteeing the smooth running of the process and investigating any possible violations of the electoral law.

According to the police, these employees, in cooperation with the OSCE, the CEC and the General Prosecutor's Office, are prepared to act in accordance with the law in the event of any indication of electoral crimes. So far, the Police have referred 37 such cases to the Prosecutor's Office and SPAK.

For election day, 5,316 officers are planned to be deployed to guard 93 CEAZs and 5,225 polling stations across the country. The relevant list has been submitted and approved by the Central Election Commission.

The police have announced that on Saturday morning, employees will receive the relevant instructions and then be positioned at the election facilities.

On Sunday, after the voting materials are delivered in the morning, the officers will temporarily withdraw and return at 7:00 PM to escort the election materials to the CEAZs.

Also, at 6:00 PM on Sunday, the Police will take custody of the facilities where the vote counting will take place, a service that will continue until the complete completion of this process.

The State Police appeals for cooperation from citizens, who are invited to report any case that violates their right to vote. Political entities are also asked to respect the law and cooperate with the authorities.
