The Special Court leaves Florenc Çapjan in prison, the testimony is

The Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime has imposed the security measure "prison arrest" on Florenc Çapjan, who was extradited a few days ago from Dubai. The 44-year-old is accused of the criminal offense of "providing conditions and means to commit murder", committed in collaboration with Sokol Sanxhatari.

Before the black squads, Çapja denied involvement in the events and asked the prosecution to present concrete evidence to support the accusations.

Çapja had been on the run in Dubai for about 8 years, where he remained at large, taking advantage of the lack of an extradition agreement between Albania and the United Arab Emirates. However, after a coordinated operation between Albanian and international authorities, he was extradited and is now in a high-security prison in Albania, where he will serve a life sentence.

According to investigations, Florenc Çapja is the nephew of Ardian Çapja, the head of a well-known criminal group in Elbasan, who for years has been in bloody conflict with the rival group of Suel Çela.

Florenc Çapja was convicted of ordering the macabre murder of father and son, Nezir and Gentian Beqiri, an event that occurred in 2012 in their apartment in Elbasan. The crime was solved after the testimony of one of the perpetrators of the assassination, who stated that Çapja had met with them in the Krraba area and had offered 50 thousand euros to carry out the murder. In order to lose track, Florenc and Ardian Çapja left for North Macedonia immediately after the event.

Investigations into this file still remain open, while SPAK is verifying other possible connections of the Çapja criminal group with serious events that have shaken Elbasan and beyond.
