Protest of Veliaj's supporters in front of SPAK, Minister Hoxha exonerates

Administration employees and supporters of Erion Veliaj gathered yesterday in front of SPAK in support of the mayor of Tirana, who is accused of stealing 860 million euros.

As he entered the Parliament, Interior Minister Ervin Hoxha was asked by journalists why there was a lack of police measures during the employees' protest in front of SPAK.

The minister justified himself by saying that the protest was unannounced and that the police forces, according to him, were found unprepared.

"The protest was unannounced. These are two different cases, different issues. There was an unannounced gathering, in the other cases there was a notification to the State Police. There were sympathizers and protesters. When Berisha goes, he announces it, so there are also police ," said Hoxha.

The minister hesitated to answer other questions from journalists.
