The salaries of health personnel and teachers of pre-university education have increased by 6%, starting from this month. The relevant ministers announced the decision after the government meeting, which took place this morning.

The Minister of Health, Ogerta Manastirliu said that, "about 19,000 doctors, nurses and health professionals, who provide services throughout our health system, in the primary and hospital ones, will benefit from this increase".

Manastirliu also announced the decision for a financial reward for doctors who have completed their specialization and practice their profession away from their residence.

"The Albanian government has also approved a financial reward in the amount of 15,000 lek per month for all those doctors who complete their specialization and on the basis of contracts with the Ministry of Health practice their profession away from their place of residence. About 300 doctors will benefit from this reward" , said Manastirliu.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Education, Evis Kushi, informed that about 36 thousand teachers will benefit from this decision.

"For all employees of the pre-university education system, we finalized the commitment we undertook at the end of last year with the approval of the budget for this year.

36 thousand employees who will benefit from July 1. The salary of psychosocial workers and security officers is also increasing. I want to emphasize that there will also be an increase for teachers' supplementary hours. With a 10% additional hour for teachers" , Kushi announced.
