34th anniversary of the founding of the DP, Salianji's congratulatory message from prison: Tomorrow for the Democrats, another battle

Former Democratic MP, Ervin Salianji, sent a congratulatory message from the phone booth of Fier prison on the 34th anniversary of the founding of the Democratic Party.

In his message, Salianji says that Albania today is far from what was thought when the Democratic Party was created.

For this reason, according to him, tomorrow for us democrats is once again a battle where we must take control of the streets, in perseverance, resistance and protest because every day more and more Albanians take to the streets due to bad governance.

Message: 

I would like to be there with you today, even if only for a few hours, to rejoice together in the road that the Democrats built for the Albanians. Unfortunately, Albania today is far from what was thought when the Democratic Party was created. And knowing this, tomorrow for us Democrats is again a battle where we must own the roads, in endurance, resistance and protest precisely because Albanians unfortunately take the roads more and more every day due to bad governance.

From where I am, it's hard to act, but it becomes very clear what you need to think and build.

It is so clear that the attacks, the pressures, the repressions are the black reflection of the pit into which the socialists in power have sunk themselves, and where with these forms and methods of repression they seek to maintain power by force and violence since they have nothing to offer the citizens. After making a pact with the devil and selling Albania into crime and corruption, today they writhe in fear and misery.

It is clear every moment that Albanians, both when they judge us and when they criticize us, do so under the anxiety that they expect us to act. Let us be more, stronger because everyone's life depends on us. Let us not expect support from those who have no strength, nor understanding from those whose powers have left them.

It is clear that They are waiting for us, that the citizens are waiting for us, and WE have waited long enough! Because today, more than ever, we are politically bigger, stronger, more united!

When I started my journey in this political force in high school with the commitments that a young man can have, I never thought that today, at the end of 2024, I would greet you from a phone booth in the Fier prison where I am being held, convicted because of a denunciation, a press conference, a guilty testimony, proven as true, which led to the surrender within a few hours of an international drug trafficker connected to the government to an Italian prison. This does not only speak for me but for the difficult days that Albania is going through and when Albania has bad days when this happens, it is always the democrats who must find the solution, it is always the democrats who must provide salvation.

I want to urge all my friends today to commit more than ever to bring about the change that the country needs. Every minute, every hour with passion and dedication. The elections are coming. We will be together to celebrate the triumph of good over evil. Nothing stops the Democrats.
