Berisha: In the second year of government, we will quintuple the budget for agriculture and livestock

Democratic leader Sali Berisha promised to increase the budget for agriculture and livestock fivefold in his second year in office, while protecting domestic products. Berisha stressed the importance of education for farmers and the provision of specialized agricultural services. Berisha opposed the government's plans to transform the Agricultural University and called on teachers and students to defend it. Berisha emphasized strong support for young farmers, for soft loans and grants, and for the renewal of the Albanian countryside.

Berisha : Education. It is necessary to pay special attention to the education of future farmers, but also to the provision of skilled agricultural and livestock experts throughout the country, to provide farmers with the best services. A new relationship must be established between the agronomist and the farmer. A relationship that is in the best interest of the development of agriculture.

Now, the cannabis government has found a model in Austria, a country that has advanced schools, among dozens and dozens of agricultural universities, it chooses one to transform the Agricultural University.
I guarantee you, it has set its sights on the grounds of that university to build, it has no other purpose, and it will merge all the professions into one.

In fact, it will destroy it because it says I have found such a model. If it were a model, the most successful model in history is the American model. And we started very well with agricultural schools. There was one in Thessaloniki, make no mistake. We got the models in cooperation with the American government, and we should consolidate them, develop them and the university, I think, has made a very large investment with the University of Agriculture, very important qualifications have been made, groups of really serious researchers, and now to start destroying the current structure is unacceptable.

Therefore, I invite the professors and students to stand up for their university because behind Edi Rama's efforts, there is nothing else but evil and the idea of ​​plundering the territories and lands of that university.

We pledge that we will triple and quintuple the investments and budget for agriculture and livestock in the second year, but we will also protect our products. There is no country in the world that does not protect production, none. Except Albania, which, in order to slaughter its own cows, approves the law on the introduction of powdered milk without VAT.

How to get rid of them?

We will do everything and have great confidence that we will transform the village into a place where young farmers, strongly supported by soft loans, with grants for start-ups in this field, will repopulate the Albanian countryside once again.

I'm telling you, in the south, the village almost doesn't exist. The village, you know. From Pogon to near Elbasan, it's like there are fires on all four sides because there are very few people, very, very few.
