The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, participated in the decoration ceremony organized by the Municipality of Kavaja and the Association of Persecuted Anti-Communists, for the American Ambassador William G. Walker.

Berisha: A heartfelt greeting to Ambassador Walker, this personality, whose name is carved with a chisel in the memory of every Albanian who loves freedom.

On the walls of this nation's history, Ambassador Walker is not only a hero of Kosovo, but he is a hero of Albania and a hero of every Albanian, as he has done for national freedom, as an individual, he has made a contribution that Albanians will never be indebted to.

Dear Ambassador, the history of Kosovo is a two-sided coin. On one side is the invincible resistance of its citizens to the incessant efforts to exterminate them, to the incessant efforts to depopulate it, to the extermination of Albanians from massacre to massacre, but it is also the history of barbarians against Kosovo.

The Racak massacre, in a way thanks to this man we have today, was the occasion when the sacrifice of 45 men, women, and children was transformed into a light of freedom for all of Kosovo and the Albanian nation.

Ambassador, there have been other massacres much larger, unfortunately some of them committed by Serbs and Albanians, from Belgrade and communist Tirana, such is the infamous Tivar massacre, which can be ranked second only to World War II, after Katyn.

But they were covered by the rust of time, the mud of time, the smoke of time because they did not have a giant witness like the ambassador, who with his stance was transformed, with his cry awakened the conscience of the entire civilized world, but above all, of his great country, the land of freedom, the USA.

Without your stance, without your courage, without your honesty, perhaps the history of Kosovo would not be what it is today.
