Genc Burimi: Rama uses integration as a political weapon, the SP campaign as

Journalist Genc Burimi has commented on the Socialist Party's campaign and the way Prime Minister Edi Rama has used the European integration process in communicating with the public. Invited to Syri TV, Burimi compared the atmosphere of the SP campaign to a "party in a psychiatric hospital", assessing that Rama's aggressive stance comes after an unexpected development on the international scene.

According to Burimi, the decision of the Polish presidency of the European Union to accelerate negotiations for Albania's integration was a surprise for Rama, who had not anticipated such support at this moment.

"Everything comes from the fact that Rama received a gift from God, a gift from the war in Ukraine. The decision of the Polish EU presidency accelerated the negotiation process and Rama did not expect it. At that moment he starts to become aggressive and thinks he has a treasure in his hand," Burimi declared.

He added that the prime minister is using this "gift" to mask the lack of a clear electoral program and to close any debate on European integration.

"According to him, this gift will serve Rama to silence the opposition and label as traitors anyone who criticizes the integration process. He sees this as a way to control the political narrative and avoid real debates on the government's program," the journalist concluded.
