A serious and unprecedented event has been recorded in the city of Përmet, where a 47-year-old man has been arrested by the Police after suspicions that he forcibly entered the apartment of a disabled woman and sexually harassed her.

According to the official announcement of the Gjirokastra Police, the incident occurred while intoxicated. The suspect, citizen ER, resident of Përmet, was arrested in flagrante delicto by officers of the Përmet Police Commissariat.

"The Crime Investigation Specialists of the Përmet Police Station arrested citizen ER, 47 years old, resident of Përmet, in flagrante delicto, after it is suspected that, while intoxicated, he forcibly entered the apartment of a 42-year-old woman with disabilities. He is also suspected of sexually harassing her," the announcement states.

The investigative materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Gjirokastra for further legal proceedings.
