"OSCE-ODIHR report invalidates elections", Tabaku: What happened in

DP-ASHM candidate for MP, Jorida Tabaku, commenting on the statements of German MEP, Michael Gahler, stated that the preliminary OSCE-ODIHR report invalidates the elections.

Tabaku, invited to 'Çim Peka LIVE', also commented on the problems that occurred in Vora, where no law enforcement institution intervened, neither the police nor SPAK.

' These are the first elections Albania faces since negotiations opened.

The moment negotiations open and you have a first set of chapters that you have to fulfill obligations, where elections are the first cornerstone, then you either have to have the political will to hold elections and make progress in the integration process, or say that I will stay here forever and for me, power is more important than any other process, even democracy itself.

The OSCE-ODIHR report, which invalidates the elections, is a report that raises concerns that are real.

What happened in Vora yesterday, with the intimidation of voters, the criminal groups involved, meant that from that moment at 12 noon until the end of the day, people did not go to vote and it was mainly representatives of the opposition who were discouraged.

What happened in Vora is an example of how elections are held in Albania.

For the OSCE-ODIHR, these are not new issues; the opposition warned about them in the hearing, and warned about them in various meetings, wherever the opposition had a voice.

The OSCE-ODIHR is not an election policeman, we are a sovereign state, we manage the electoral process ourselves, but we must also bear our own responsibilities.

But what is the duty of the OSCE-ODIHR, the Parliament and the European Commission, is that the moment the elections are violated, the moment the rotation is violated, then measures must be taken against Albania. The integration process is also hindered, as are other processes related to democracy, which will no longer move forward.

But when a state meets the minimum democratic obligations and criteria that the OSCE-ODIHR has for member states, then what are we talking about, there is no democracy here anymore. When it cannot carry out rotation with free and fair elections, and these are in the hands of the Parliament and the European Commission, we cannot sit through election after election repeating the same problems, even more aggravated, and do nothing.

"This situation has been an alarm bell for them too," said, among other things, Jorida Tabaku on SYRI TV.
