Këlliçi on Rama's statements: Shame and insensitivity towards the most sensitive in society

Këlliçi on Rama's statements: Shame and insensitivity towards

The political leader of the Democratic Party for the Tirana Region, Belind Këlliçi, has reacted to another inappropriate statement by Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Këlliçi calls the use of bullying and offensive language towards people on the autism spectrum a scandal.

In his statement, he calls on responsible institutions to intervene to stop the spread of this offensive and discriminatory culture, underlining that a civilized society is measured by how it treats and protects its weakest.

Full speech:

"Politically you are autistic, you are not good."

Another scandal of Edi Rama's offensive and bullying language.

After "long live the lover" addressed to girls and "go to Google and search for my nude photos" addressed to children, now it's the turn of autism spectrum disorders to enter his insulting mouth and once again show the insensitivity and ignorance of the prime minister.

People affected by autism are not "dumb" or "half-witted".

They are people affected by a psychiatric disorder that causes problems in behavior and personal relationships, but sometimes gives them extraordinary abilities in the exact sciences or artistic expression.

Autism causes major family dramas, to which sensitivity must certainly be maximum.

But autism is a spectrum, and of course, people affected by this spectrum at various levels are best integrated into society, sometimes even into the elites of thought or scientific research.

The Democratic Party calls on the Commissioner for Protection from Discrimination, the Order of Psychologists, and any other institution or organization that has responsibility to intervene in this case to curb the bullying culture and mentality towards people affected by autism, as well as any other disorder.

A civilized society is distinguished from a jungle society precisely in cases like this, in the protection of its most vulnerable members.
