The deputy of the Democratic Party and the deputy speaker of the Assembly, Agron Gjekmarkaj, spoke after the decision by the Court of Appeal, which decided not to accept the appeal made by the part led by Lulzim Basha, thus automatically leaving in force the decision of the first instance which recognized the Assembly called by former Prime Minister Sali Berisha and his supporters, in December 2021. 

Invited to MCN TV, Gjekmarkaj called this a patriotic act in favor of the pluralism of the country and the opposition.

"I had dilemmas and fears until the last moment that maybe it couldn't happen so that they could put their hands in, but for the sake of truth the three judges could not put their hands in front of the history of the Albanian opposition and I judge it as a patriotic act .

I judge it as an act done to pluralism and the country.

It is a positive turn as a whole because it is now clear from the legal point of view where the country's opposition is. Now begins a new period for the opposition, that of a new relationship with the public, a reconceptualization that will convince it to be voted to make a change in Albania ", said Gjekmarkaj.
