The appeal appointed the judges for the request of 'Re-establishment',

The Court of Appeals appointed by lot the judge who will review the Re-establishment request, not to accept the appeal made by Enkelejd Alibeaj.

The case was referred to Judge Elona Toro for consideration and in addition the trial panel will also consist of Edlira Petri and Judge Genti Shala.

After the decision, former Prime Minister Sali Berisha reacted, calling it illegal and with interference from Edi Rama and the US Ambassador, Yuri Kim.

Su escalated the conflict in the DP

The political conflict within the Democratic Party between the two groups has entered a legal stalemate following a decision taken on March 25 by the first instance court to recognize the decisions of the December 11 Assembly, held by the Re-establishment Committee consisting of MPs and officials. DP, supporters of Sali Berisha.

The court decision was challenged by Enkelejd Alibeaj, who was declared the commanding chairman of this party after the resignation of Lulzim Basha.

He called the decision unenforceable and attacked Judge Agron Zhukri, accusing him of abuse of office, warning of a criminal charge against him.

Following the decision to recognize the statutory changes, Gazment Bardhi sent a request to launch an investigation into the decision of the Court, in ILD. Meanwhile, ILD responded by saying that investigations have begun regarding the decision of the Court of Tirana, which has registered the statutory changes made in the Assembly of December 11, thus legitimizing the Re-establishment Commission.

Enkelejd Alibeaj also appealed the decision of the court that recognized the Assembly of December 11 in the Tirana Court of Appeals, but the Re-establishment Commission for the Democratic Party immediately responded. In an official statement, the DP wrote that Alibeaj was dismissed as Deputy Chairman of the DP and consequently did not meet any legitimate criteria to complain.

It remains to be seen whether Judge Elona Toro recognizes the DP's appeal of the July 11th statute and decides on the December 18th decisions, which permanently expel Berisha from the party, and formally determine to whom the DP leadership belongs.

disunity

The two assemblies held in December formalized the split of the largest opposition party, the first to form after the fall of the communist one-party system in 1990. In January, Berisha's group staged a clash to seize the party headquarters, clashing. violently with the other party.

The by-elections showed that the candidates of Berisha's group managed to get more votes than the official candidates of the Democratic Party, a situation that led to the pressure of the deputies on Basha to resign from the leadership of the party.
