Following the election of the Presidency last Saturday, June 3, the National Council of the Democratic Party is expected to elect the Vice Presidents and the Secretariat.

In these conditions, discussions within the Democratic Party have started for possible candidates, while in the media are alluded to some names for important positions for the new leadership that will be next to Sali Berisha, who on May 22 was elected head of Democratic Party.

DP vice-presidents

Regarding the deputy chairmen of the Democratic Party, Politiko.al wrote a few days ago that potential candidates are rumored to be four deputies, Oerd Bykykbashi, Agron Shehaj, Belind Këlliçi and Luciano Boçi.

So far, only Bylykbashi has publicly stated that he will run for the post of vice president.

The DP has two vice-presidents defined in the statute, one of whom takes over the leadership of the Parliamentary Group and the other the vice-president of the Assembly.

Shehaj and Boçi in the elections of April 25 resulted in support after both broke the quotient. Meanwhile, Elbasan MP Luciano Boci is expected to be the new chairman of the parliamentary group.

Competition for Secretary General

The Secretary General is the highest post in the Democratic Party hierarchy, after the DP chairman.

According to ABC, three are the most curved names to take up the post. Former head of the DP Youth Forum, Belind Këlliçi. The latter in the race for the presidency of PD turned out to be the most voted candidate among the Democrats who were part of the race.

But the number 2 of the Democratic Party is also an ambition of Berisha's closest collaborator from the first day of moving for the Re-establishment of the Democratic Party, MP Flamur Noka. The third name to bend in the blue headquarters to run for the post of General Secretary is also Arben Imami.

What penalizes former Minister Imami in this race is the low number of votes collected in the vote for the presidency, where he could not cross the threshold by remaining outside this forum.

Recall that a few weeks ago, Democratic MP Edi Paloka was elected the new chairman of the National Council of the Democratic Party. Paloka received 132 votes, against 79 of the other candidate Elena Qirici, former PD deputy in the Korça region.
