The vote of the National Council was avoided, how Alibeaj took over the

Enkelejd Alibeaj is the new interim chairman of the Democratic Party after the resignation of Lulzim Basha on the afternoon of March 21.

After this act, according to the DP statute, article 46, the leadership of the party until the election of the new chairman is taken by one of the DP vice-chairmen.

This article stipulates that the Secretary General must convene the National Council to appoint one of the vice-presidents as the new chairman of the party. Thus the leadership of the party was taken by Enkelejd Alibeaj or the deputy chairman Jorida Tabaku.

In a press release, Secretary General Bardhi stated that Tabaku had withdrawn from the intention to take over the DP leadership after Basha's resignation, giving Alibeaj a chance.

But, when asked by the media today why the vote of the National Council was avoided, he Alibeaj and Bardhi avoided the answer, as they called for unification.

"The union is about all democrats, who feel the greatest weight today ," said Alibeaj.

"The party unites when each of us transcends ourselves and thinks of the interest of the DP", said Bardhi.

On the other hand, the representative of the Re-establishment Commission, Flamur Noka, commenting on the appointment of Enkelejd Alibeaj as commanded chairman of PD by Gazment Bardhi, called such a ridiculous move, because according to him they have no function in PD since the Assembly of December 11th.
