The numerous snowfalls that have engulfed the southeast of Albania have caused road blockages and interruptions in the supply of electricity in some areas.

The thickness of the snow has reached up to 30 cm at heights above 800 meters, creating serious problems for the circulation of vehicles.

One of the most affected areas was Korça, where on the road axis Boboshtica - Dardhë the thickness of the snow has reached up to 30 cm, especially on the top of Biglla.

The road authorities reacted immediately to keep the axes open, sending more than 15 snow removal vehicles, which worked during the night to ensure the passability of the roads Korçë - Dardë, Korçë - Voskopojë, Kamenica - Erseke and Zęblak - Dogana e Gorica. the Great.

So, the axis from Maja e Qafë Qarri to the entrance of Erseka is blocked by snow, causing great difficulties for traffic. For this reason, the road authorities have asked the drivers to use the old road, which is passable without problems.

The snowfall has also caused damage to the electrical network, cutting off the power supply in several villages of Vithkuq and Lekas ​​administrative units in the municipality of Korça, as well as in Leskovik, in the municipality of Kolonja.

Following these damages, OSHEE teams are engaged in the field to repair the network and restore electricity to the affected areas.
