Cukali: The Prime Minister uses perverse strategies to strike, the consequences

The head of the Albanian Media Council, Koloreto Cukali, has spoken about the freedom of the media and the government's pressure on it.

In an interview for "Panorama TV", Cukali said that Prime Minister Edi Rama uses perverse strategies to attack the media.

According to Cukali, all pressures on the media through dictating its content, but also pressures in other forms, will bring long-term consequences for Albania.

"It is clear, these are methods invented before. In the modern world, Trump was the specific case of hitting the media. It is a known strategy. If you always mention kettle, this word starts ringing in your head. You repeat a message non-stop. This message gets stuck in people's heads. A large part of people, unfortunately, are ill-educated, and this message is very badly imprinted on their heads. Rama gives a message that the public should not follow the media, but should listen to me.
It is a perverse strategy, terribly harmful for Albania. Let's see what will happen after Rama. The damage that will be done to Albania after Rama is terrible. It is a society that will never recover. It will take many years to be cleaned," he said.
