The chief inspector of Divjaka Municipality is sentenced to prison

The Chief Inspector of the Divjak Municipality has been sentenced by the Court of Fier to 1 year in prison for 'Abuse of duty' after being accused of allowing illegal constructions.

During the investigations, according to the prosecution body, it was found that the chief inspector with the initials RL, with his inactions and not fulfilling his functional duty, did not submit a report for the cases of illegal constructions.

According to the prosecutor's office, these actions constitute regular non-fulfilment of duty and have resulted in damage to the legitimate interests of the state.

While the Court of Fier decided his guilty declaration, for the criminal offense "Abuse of duty" and his sentence of 1 year imprisonment.

The Chief Inspector of the Divjak Municipality is punished at the request of the Fier Prosecutor's Office for 'Abuse of duty', he allowed illegal constructions

The Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of Fier General Jurisdiction completed the investigations in relation to criminal proceedings no. 346, dt. 14.06.2021 and sent to trial the citizen RL, chief inspector of the Divjak Municipality for the criminal offense 'Abuse of duty' provided by Article 248 of the Criminal Code.

During the investigations, it turned out that the citizen RL, acting as the Chief Inspector of IMTV Divjak Municipality, with his inaction and not fulfilling the functional duty, did not submit a report for the cases of illegal constructions, acting contrary to the provisions of law no. 9780, dated 16.7.2007 "On the inspection and protection of the territory from illegal constructions" article 5, letter "dh", as well as article 52 point 7, of the law no. 107/2024 "On planning and development of the territory". These actions constitute regular non-fulfilment of the duty and have brought damage to the legitimate interests of the state.

In response to the request of the prosecution in relation to the above proceedings, the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Fier, decided the guilty declaration of the defendant RL, for the criminal offense "Abuse of duty" provided by Article 248 of the Criminal Code and his punishment with 1 year imprisonment.
