Erdgys Arrazi sentenced to four years in prison, his wife and three children

Ergys Arrazi, the husband of Alma Arrazi, who drowned with her three children in the Buna River, has been sentenced to 4 years in prison by the Shkodra Court. He was found guilty of the criminal offense of "Causing suicide", after accusations of continuous psychological and physical violence against his wife and their children.

The decision was made by Judge Orgent Nazaj, who initially sentenced Arraz to 6 years in prison, but due to the summary trial, the sentence was reduced to 4 years in prison.

The tragic event occurred a few months ago, when Alma Arrazi, 39, drowned in the Buna River along with her three minor children. The bodies were found one by one in the days following the event, starting with the 9-year-old daughter, followed by her sister, then the son and finally Alma.

Investigations revealed that the extreme act was directly caused by the systematic violence that Alma and her children suffered from her husband. Security camera footage from a local business filmed the mother walking alone with her children near the river, a few hours before the fatal incident.

Family members of the victim, who were questioned by the police, have testified to a long history of violence within the family. According to them, Alma was a victim of physical and psychological violence from her husband, and had tried to seek help, but without success.

Police meanwhile seized footage from security cameras at several businesses in the area to analyze the victim's recent movements and verify whether she was alone with the children at the tragic moment.
