17 cases have been confirmed with "Nile fever" in our country.
The head of the Institute of Public Health, Eugena Tomini, in an interview for Euronews Albania, said that human infection is mainly the result of bites from infected mosquitoes, which become infected when they feed on infected birds.
Tomini said that 80% of individuals who can be infected by this virus do not show symptoms, 20% show mild symptoms.
"80 percent of individuals who can be infected do not show symptoms, that is, those who have strong immunity, but 20 percent can show mild symptoms and only 1 percent show neuroevasive signs or affect the central nervous system and this tendency in increase was noticed in QSUT. We have 17 confirmed cases, but for other cases that have not been determined and are under evaluation, there will be an update of the situation if the cases are confirmed or not in the following days" , said Tomini.
