Ligue 1 lowers the curtain, PSG is declared champion

The French championship lowered the bar on Saturday evening, deciding the final verdicts, with PSG being declared champions.

The Parisians ended this season with a loss, a match which was the last for the Argentine star Lionel Messi, and perhaps for several others, among them Neymar. The Parc de Princ challenge quickly unravelled, with PSG taking the lead through Ramos and Mbappe, with Clermont not even able to overturn the result.

Gastien, Zeffane and Kyei were the goal scorers, while Clermont secured the 8th place, but that does not allow them a ticket to the European leagues. The second place went to Lens, which ended the season with only 1 point less than PSG, while in the 38th week it defeated Auxerre 3-1. Marseille is close to returning to the Champions League while playing play-off matches, Rennes in the Europa League and Lille in the Conference League.

Auxerre, Aix-en-Provence, Troyes, Angers are the teams that go down a category, while they will be replaced by Le Havre and Metz. Kylian Mbappe won the golden boot as the top scorer with 29 goals, followed by Lacazette and David. In the list of the best scorers, there was also a place for Lionel Messi, who scored 16 goals and assisted 16 more times for his teammates.
