"King" of cocaine in the Nordic countries, GJKKO sentences Jetmir

GJKKO has sentenced Jetmir Kastrati to 9 years in prison, accused of money laundering and drug trafficking, carried out in collaboration as part of a structured criminal group.

According to the Special Court, Kastrati was sentenced to 13 years and 6 months in prison, but due to the shortened trial, a sentence of 9 years in prison was requested.

Kastrar is accused of several criminal offences, such as: "Cleaning the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity", carried out in special cooperation, in the form of a structured criminal group, provided for by the articles, "Structured criminal group" and "Commitment of criminal offenses by criminal organization and structured criminal group".

Jetmir Kastrati (alias Sokol Krasnici) from 2012 to June 2019, as part of a structured criminal group, trafficked very large quantities of cocaine in Denmark, Sweden and Norway, from the sale of which he provided income originating criminal.

These revenues after 2012 have been transformed into various movable and immovable assets in Albania, thus cleaning the products of criminal activity, through investments in real estate in the area of ​​Velipoja and the city of Shkodra, as well as economic activities in the city of Shkodra.

"In the previous hearings, from the Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, in the final conclusions, the guilty declaration of the defendant Jetmir Kastrati (alias Sokol Krasnici) for committing the aforementioned criminal offenses and his sentence of 13 years and 6 months of imprisonment.

In the application of Article 406 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, due to the summary judgment, his sentence of 9 years of imprisonment was finally requested, a sentence which the defendant had to serve in a high security prison.

At the end of the trial on 20.03.2023 by the Special Court of First Instance against Corruption and Organized Crime in Tirana, the defendant Jetmir Kastrati (alias Sokol Krasnici) pleaded guilty to the criminal offenses for which he was accused and was sentenced with 13 years and 6 months of imprisonment.

Due to the abbreviated trial in application of Article 406 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, after the reduction of 1/3 of the sentence, the defendant Jetmir Kastrati (alias Sokol Krasnici) was finally sentenced to 9 years in prison, a sentence which he must serve in a high security prison" , announces GJKKO.
