A bus caught fire this morning at the exit of the Kardhiqi tunnel, while passengers were inside, traveling from Gjirokastra to Saranda. The flames spread rapidly, completely consuming the vehicle and causing a large plume of smoke that covered the area.
It is suspected that an electrical spark may have caused the fire, which also burned passengers' personal belongings. When the flames broke out, passengers quickly fled, creating panic, but fortunately no injuries were reported.
