PL presents candidates/ Meta message from prison: We need 84 mandates, our first

The Freedom Party, part of the "PD-Alliance for a Greater Albania" coalition, has today presented its candidates for deputies in the May 11 elections. During this meeting, an audio message was broadcast from prison by the president of the PL, Ilir Meta, who is part of the coalition's lists for the Tirana district.

Meta, at the beginning of his message, stressed that Albania is still the last country in the region in terms of exports, and this problem continues to worsen. He called on citizens to vote number 1 on the ballot, which, according to him, will make them the first in every decision of the next government.

The PL leader also highlighted the party's five priorities, approved at the April 27 Convention, which are part of the coalition agreement and will aim to stop depopulation and transform Albania into an exporting power. Meta called for intensifying meetings with citizens and voters, emphasizing that these 35 days that separate us from the elections must be used to the maximum to bring about a "historic change."

Ilir Meta's full statement:

We are still 35 days away from May 11th. 12 years is a very long time for a country that has lost almost a million active citizens. 12 years and we are not only the last country in the region in terms of export levels, not even 8% of GDP, but the decline in exports is worsening without stopping, while North Macedonia exports 57% of GDP.

Today, after 12 years, we are the country with the highest taxes, but also the most increased during this time in the region, but surprisingly we are also the country with the lowest level of public revenue collection, not even 28% of GDP, while Bosnia, Serbia, Montenegro and other countries have revenues from 41% to 42.6% of GDP.

This difference of 14% is 3.3 billion euros in one year or 13.2 billion euros in four years, corresponding to one governing mandate.

Well, for all the skeptics of our promises and those of the opposition, these 13.2 billion euros alone, which Edi Rama's sect is robbing without even entering the State Budget, would be enough to exceed all the promises of the "PD-ASHM" coalition, not counting the hundreds of millions of euros that will be saved from incinerators that do not exist, from the "Tigers" of energy in Vlora that do not work, and from the 5D schemes of "Rilindja" wherever Albanian public money is spent and invested.

Therefore, our citizens should vote No. 1 on the ballot, the "PD-ASHM" coalition, so that they will be the first in every decision of the new Government.

The five priorities of the Freedom Party, adopted a year ago, at the Historic Convention of April 27, are part of our coalition agreement that will stop depopulation and that will culminate in Albania becoming an exporting power. The very successful Hungarian model for supporting young families, for their housing and for encouraging fertility, is also our model. The Macedonian model for concrete support for every production unit in agriculture and for every cow, sheep, goat, poultry and beehive, will be our model. The Macedonian model of creating free zones will be our model for attracting foreign investment by increasing exports.

Because our model will be to support domestic production and not to bankrupt it in order to flourish the “Open Balkans”. Because our model is the industrial strengthening of the country through increased productivity and added value of raw materials. Because our model is the strengthening of human capital and increased quality in education. Because our model is the support of sports and not drugs. Because our model is the support of cultural heritage and not its destruction.

By voting for No. 1 “PD – ASHM”, Albanians have voted for a drastic reduction in taxes, but also for the rapid formalization of the economy. By voting for us, Albanians have voted for the simplification of taxes and the elimination of inspectors above inspectors and today's fining and patronage system. By voting for us they vote not only for equality before the law, but first of all for equality of vote, which has been destroyed by Edi Rama to eliminate accountability and fair elections.

On May 11, Albanians will practically vote for only 1/3 of the Assembly, because 2/3 of the Assembly is predetermined, because of Edi Rama, the inventor of closed lists. Therefore, the Freedom Party guarantees all Albanian citizens that its first priority will be to change the Electoral Code to guarantee 100% opening of lists and equality of votes. Therefore, our coalition needs 84 mandates to realize this decisive change immediately and without Edi Rama, the enemy of free and fair elections, in his party and in Albania.

The Freedom Party will be the guarantor for accelerating the country's European integration, as the SMI has been at all key moments in the past. I invite you all to not stop for a second during these 35 days, meeting every citizen and every new voter, in particular, to make them part of this historic change that is taking place. I want to greet Oni, a student who also works as a waiter, whom I have only met once by chance and who has so far cast 113 sure votes, of which 15 only from his friends and relatives in the diaspora.

But he doesn't stop, because he doesn't want to leave our country.

In conditions of extreme isolation, every day I write and send 50 to 100 letters to my friends, from the elementary school “Kongresi i Lushnjes”, the 8-year-old “Fan Noli”, the high school “Sami Frashëri”, the Faculty of Economics, friends from the time of sports, to ask for their support not only for No. 1, “PD–ASHM”, but also for ILIR METAJ as the deputy of Tirana. Wasn’t it me as Prime Minister, in May – June 2001, who returned the “Rinia” park to Tirana? Wasn’t it me as Prime Minister who, by Government decision, took the National Theater and the museum area of Tirana under protection?

Wasn't it me, as President of the Republic, who appeared in person at the Constitutional Court to prevent the barbaric destruction of the theater? And wasn't it the dictator in sneakers who illegally and fascistically ordered the destruction of the Theater with the artists inside, in the middle of the night? Well, he has been included in the closed list in Tirana because he has many reasons to hide from the open trial of Tirana.

While I am on the open list and I believe in Tirana, which will be the locomotive of historic change with at least 20 deputies for our alliance “PD–ASHM”. The vote for this alliance, “PD – Alliance for Greater Albania” is a vote for historic change. The vote for ILIR METAJ, deputy of the Tirana District, is a pure vote against dictatorship. Freedom will triumph on May 11 and all Albanians will breathe freely on May 12, because this country has sunshine for everyone.
