Rama's threats to remove businesses / Citizens in Lungomare warn of

The action to remove businesses that have occupied public spaces in the Lungomare area in Vlora has begun after the ultimatum given by Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Citizens who own these businesses have expressed their dissatisfaction, describing it as something that should be done but not at this time, as Vlora is a seasonal city frequented by many tourists and locals, and for them it would be a great loss.

"This measure should have been taken when we were prepared before the elections or before the season or after the season. How can you hit someone at their weakest moment. Vlora is a seasonal place, all businesses are eagerly waiting for this month to do the calculations for the whole year behind, it is intolerable. We have gathered to move towards the total closure of businesses in protest ," said the citizen.

Another citizen who returned from abroad with the intention of opening a business says that it has cost him a lot of money since it was a month since he opened his business, and he may be forced to return abroad again.

" We don't take extreme measures, let's not confuse things. I am a person who came from abroad. I grew up abroad and this is my first year that I wanted to return to Albania. I did a business with a lot of money, it's been a month and a half since I opened it and it's been a disaster for me the first year I came, I'm losing my heart and sweat. Or should I go back ?", he said.

The citizens of Lungomare call for such a measure to be postponed until after the summer season.

"In addition to the cost and loss we have as a business, the biggest loss is the image we have among the tourists who frequent us. We agree with what is required to be done but not at this time. The right moment would be when we are prepared. Our call is to postpone it until after the season, then if it is designed in that way, we will adapt to the project. We are waiting for the peak of the season, and this is not normal at all."
