Releasing occupied sidewalks/ Teliti: Rama is playing the role of mayor! He was

Economic expert Dorjan Teliti has commented on the recently launched action to free sidewalks or public spaces occupied by businesses, mainly bars.

Invited to SYRI TV, Teliti raised concerns that legality in the territory is implemented selectively and belatedly, usually only after elections, while during the campaigns the same facilities were used for the political activities of the majority.

He also highlights the increasingly centralized role of the prime minister in local decision-making, describing him as a "national mayor."

Teliti:   If they have a permit, it means that they are within the technical conditions. If they are within the technical conditions, it means that an engineer or a specialist from the relevant municipality has practically authorized the connection of that structure. At the moment it is with a permit, any kind of intervention is illegal and is totally in violation of the law. But there is another part that is the interventions in the abusive sense, or the interventions that have received a permit for 10-15 square meters but have made it 25 square meters. They have expanded it more than necessary.

On the one hand, if you take it the government is right, it is the municipality in this case. If the municipalities have already become departments under the prime minister's office and the mayor of all of Albania, we know who he is, so it is Prime Minister Edi Rama himself and he is also playing the role of mayor of Tirana and Vlora. Tomorrow he will play the mayor of Korça, tomorrow of Fier and so on.

Normally, intervention must be made to enforce the law. The problem is how we got to this point. It is not a phenomenon that is happening to us for the first time, it is a phenomenon and an event that every time after an election the government always remembers the legality of the territory and says: Do I have the territory under control or not?

And it so happens that until that date, until the election date, he has left him free to do whatever he wants. If you open the social networks of the Socialist Party candidates in the elections, you will see that these are the places that are being demolished today where their meetings were held. It was in these same places that they praised business, where they said, "Well done, businesses have made investments."
