"I built it with debts, on the land of my ancestors", says the elderly

Top Channel journalist Anila Hoxha has published on social media the testimony of elderly Lene Prroni, who is reported to be the owner of the land where the holiday cabins in the village of Theth were located, which were demolished today by an IKMT action.

Prroni told the Shkodra Prosecutor's Office that she built the cabins herself with money borrowed from relatives, while she stated that she built the cabins without a permit because the buildings have no foundations and no concrete. She also stated that she does not have ownership documents, but the land has been inherited from generation to generation.

"The found silos are located on my property, it is a property that I inherited from my ancestors. I declare that I am interested in obtaining a building permit from the Municipality to place them, but they told me that they do not grant a permit, since ownership documents are needed to benefit. And I do not have ownership documents, but I have inherited the property from generation to generation. I also declare that to my knowledge, for objects that are without foundations, without concrete, there is no need to obtain a permit. I borrowed the money for the construction of these silos from my relatives, to build these silos. I had about 300 heads of cattle in Dukagjin, but since I did not have a shepherd to take care of them, I sold them all, " she is reported to have said.
