Emergency cases during the summer, Brataj: We cannot fight with windmills, we

Director of the National Center for Medical Emergency, Skënder Brataj, spoke about the measures that the health system has taken to manage emergency situations in the country.

Invited to Syri TV, Brataj said that despite the suggestions made by experts and technicians, the lack of finances remains a problem. Brataj said that we cannot fight with windmills without having a budget to manage citizens' emergency cases.

"One thing I want to say, specialists and technicians must be listened to. First, the technicians must be listened to, then the political decision must be made, not the other way around. We cannot fight windmills, no matter how much we do in every case, and fortunately there is some kind of measurement. No matter what kind of thing is said, it is a mechanism that cannot be changed, be it the registration of the call, the departure of the ambulance, the arrival at the place, how far it has gone, etc.

So even that last case was 22 minutes, but in this period there are many incidents, specialist services, missions, the types of pathologies increase according to the season, the number increases and we know this very well.

Many times when I discuss with these 'Task Force' groups, will this be done or will that be done, but wait, is there a budget for this that will be done? Because in words it is very easy, it is very simple and seeing that every year the number increases, fortunately it is kept in mind that if as an institution you give me a budget for 3 million Albanians, what about the 11 who come, how will you cope with them?

So the possibility of financial growth (not as much as necessary) is done in such a way that you can afford this way of the summer health center, fortunately I am one of the initiators since when I arrived, they ask me, how is it done because the service is moved when the citizen goes.

"Because if a citizen goes to the beach, if he comes all the way to Tirana, he never returns, if he goes to Dhermi and goes all the way to the hospital in Vlora, he never returns there either. I'm talking here about those little things that of course if there is an illness that has its own evolution, it will certainly end the vacation ," declared Brataj.
