A 34-year-old man who was declared an international wanted man was arrested this Sunday at the Qafë Thanë border crossing.

Alija Arslan, a resident of Kicevo, North Macedonia, who was sentenced in Switzerland to 20 years in prison for international drug trafficking, has been arrested.

 Interpol Tirana, in cooperation with Interpol Bern/Switzerland, are continuing actions for his extradition to Switzerland.

Police Notification

Following increased controls to prevent and combat illegality, as well as to apprehend citizens wanted nationally and internationally, the Border Police services at the Qafë Thanë Border Crossing Point stopped and arrested at the entrance to Albanian territory the citizen:

Alija Arslan, 34 years old, resident of Kicevo, North Macedonia.

From the verifications carried out in cooperation with Interpol Tirana, it resulted that this citizen was internationally wanted by Interpol Bern/Switzerland, pursuant to an order issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Canton of Aargau.

The 34-year-old has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for criminal offenses related to international drug trafficking, as provided for by Article 19 of the Act on Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances of the Swiss Criminal Code.

Interpol Tirana, in cooperation with Interpol Bern/Switzerland, continues actions for his extradition to Switzerland.
