The confession of the former judge who became a prosecutor in the US: In Albania

Rezarta Mataj, a former judge in Albania, now a prosecutor of economic crimes in the US, has openly spoken about what was called "justice" in her time.

Invited to journalist Flamur Vezaj's podcast 'Ma shqip' in the USA, she confessed that in her work she had to face and see drunk and corrupt judges, where justice did not give decisions.

"Vetting is one of the best things in the justice system because it was filtered. We had judges who smelled of alcohol, we had judges who came at 10:00 when the trial was scheduled for 08:00 and the parties were waiting there. Citizens came from the districts and waited for the judge to finish his work, when he should have been in the courtroom, there were also unqualified and untrained judges. A reform takes its time until it is consolidated," said Mataj.
