The USA celebrates its 249th anniversary of Independence

The United States of America celebrates its 249th anniversary of Independence today.

On July 4, 1776, delegates from the 13 British colonies of America signed the Declaration of Independence, which is said to have been the cause of the American Revolution.

Before 1776, all 13 colonies were subject to British law and had to pay high duties on imported goods such as sugar, coffee, tea, or alcoholic beverages. This scenario created growing resentment towards the British crown, leading to this historic event.

The Fourth of July celebration honors the signing of the American Declaration of Independence by the Founding Fathers of the United States. The renowned statesman Thomas Jefferson, along with the political philosopher Benjamin Franklin, were among the many names who renounced British rule and declared the North American colonies as free states.

Independence Day in the US is celebrated with grand parades, family celebrations, and ends with fireworks.
