Berisha publishes denunciation: Microcredits are driving citizens to suicide,

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, wrote in a Facebook post that the situation with microcredit companies in Albania has gotten out of control.

A citizen, in a complaint sent to Berisha, shows the consequences of dealing with two of these companies, 'Iute Kredit' and 'Kredo.al'.

He tells how, for a small loan, he was faced with inflated bills and enforcement companies that exerted pressure not only on him, but also on his family members.

Berisha says that Albanians have been left by the government at the mercy of financial abusers. 

"They are sending him towards fatality!

Hello Doctor Berisha. I am a citizen from the city of Puka and I want to file a complaint about 2 microcredit branches, Iute Kredit and Kredo.al. I took out loans from these and they took my soul. I took 3.5 million old ones from one, how is it possible that they give without insurance, without employment and then put a noose around my neck. They have strangled me, mutilated me, with execution papers, with everything – these are not just banks. These are lek with interest. They completely destroyed me. Is it possible to write an article, a complaint or something, verify and see that the execution companies destroyed us with pressure, they are driving me to suicide. What are these branches, that they are good at dealing with me, but my family, brothers, sisters, wife, mother, father call. I have been separated from my family for 10 years. Please do something because I am not the first – they completely destroyed us. Did the foreign man kill them in front of SPAK? He committed suicide because these banks ruined him.

I got 2.5 million and left it 35 days without paying the first installment and my total loan was 5.2 million, and they passed it on to me by law firm. The law firm also puts in 30 percent of the remaining principal, which means millions of lek without end.

"They have destroyed me, they are driving me towards suicide ," Berisha writes.
