Berisha: Dismissal of directors in Vlora, another act of 'scapegoats'

DP leader Sali Berisha has denounced Rama's interference in the powers of local government in Vlora, describing this action as a flagrant violation of the Constitution and international agreements.

According to him, this behavior is typical of a "party-state", where the central government annihilates local autonomy in a manner similar to totalitarian regimes such as North Korea and periods of Stalinist dictatorship.

"The recent dismissals in Vlora are an attempt to hide the failures of the government, which has degraded the city by destroying standards and the environment, while providing citizens with unqualified and commanding directors of the Municipality and not of the citizens.

First, his positions are blatant evidence of what we have denounced, not only us, but also the world, of the party-state in Albania. Only in a party-state does it happen that the powers of local government are annihilated.

The country's constitution and international agreements that Albania has signed, such as the charter of the Congress of Regional and Local Authorities.

They recognize the full autonomy of local government from the central government, and never accept such acts, which today only occur in North Korea and once occurred in the darkest times of the Stalinist dictatorship. There is no constitutional, legal, or international agreement for the head of the narco-state to brutally interfere in the powers of local government.

What do these elements represent? The dismissal of the directors in Vlora is another act of the scapegoats. After massively violating the elections in Vlora, after reducing Vlora to a state of standards, let's say hygienic-sanitary, that has never had such, after filling the banks with sewage, and burning hundreds of tons of garbage every 2 weeks and bringing poison to the citizens of Vlora, he gives them as bones some directors, who did not tell them what they implemented or opposed from their mayor. Who, take orders from their mayor and not the prime minister.  So, everything was done to cover up" , declared Berisha.
