The end of an era for Ilir Meta? The President of the PL for Politiko: These 30 years were just training, the truth will triumph in Strasbourg

For the first time in over three decades, Ilir Meta is outside any high state position, neither President, nor Prime Minister, nor MP.

But above all, for the first time, he is in prison. Politiko.al conducted an interview with the president of the Freedom Party from his cell, where he talks about the end of an era, about those who have abandoned him, about justice that according to him has been seized by the government, and about a "final battle" that he says will take place in Strasbourg.

Question: Mr. Meta, for the first time in 30 years you are neither President, nor Prime Minister, nor a member of parliament, and you are in prison. Is this the end of an era for Ilir Meta?

Answer: It is just the beginning of a new era. If you read Churchill written by Boris Johnson, there is a beautiful moment when he says that just before I was elected Prime Minister, everyone thought that my time was up, because he had been in Government for almost four decades and had changed parties a couple of times. I didn't know either that the whole 40-year period had just been training for a new era, as it turned out. So we don't stop anyone from rejoicing prematurely. But I really consider these 30 years a very valuable experience for the future.

Question: Do you feel betrayed by your closest people, those who became politically wealthy and now that you are in prison, are silent?

Answer: Those who have reason to remain silent, it is better not to speak because they do not help me either, except to burden themselves. Those who are free should not remain silent, for their dignity and the future of their children.

Question: If justice proves your guilt, will you accept the verdict?

Answer: We do not expect Justice from "Ramaforma" and this final battle will be in Strasbourg. There has not existed and there is no criminal fact or evidence for Ilir Meta in 30 years of public activity. My kidnapping and hostage-taking are part of a project to annihilate the sovereignty of the Albanian people and our state. Therefore, my causes are very great and will triumph.

Question: You have often said that you have fought for democracy, for the freedoms and rights of citizens. Do you think that what is happening to you today is part of a larger clash with the system that is trying to control every power?

Answer : My struggle against the complete capture of the state and justice began in January 2017, as I explained in my Autointervistë interview a few days ago. That is, at the moment when the first draw was made in the Assembly for the election of members of the Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC).

Everything was perfect and transparent throughout the entire preparatory process and that day and with the presence of EURALIUS and OPDAT, when the next day Rama, upset by the names drawn by the lottery, misused Ambassador Lu to make a public statement based on lies, as he himself later admitted.

Thus the first draw was made, and so on three more times, using ambassadors and McGonigals, until the total capture of the Prosecutor's Office (with 69 votes) and all the courts, including the Constitutional Court.

Once, in Greece, we had a Junta of colonels, now we have a Junta of Prosecutors commanded by Rama with full direction and support from the international mafia that uses Albania both as a money laundering machine and as a logistical base for trafficking cocaine, heroin, etc.
