Bardho gave Zegjine's mandate/Braho: Unfair! It violates the electoral

Ledio Braho, member of the Complaints and Sanctions Commission, commented this Friday on Maldrita Bardho's decision to leave her seat in the Assembly to Zegjine Çaushi, who lost her mandate during the vote recount in Fier.

In an interview with Klan News, Braho stated that the final decision will be made by the State Election Commissioner, when the mandates are distributed. In his opinion, Braho should resign from his mandate from the Assembly hall in September.

"Legally, I believe that the State Election Commissioner will provide a solution to this, at the moment of the distribution of mandates. I am of the opinion that Ms. Bardho should appear in the Assembly in September and there give up her mandate, and then a replacement will be made. However, I do not know how the administrative procedure will proceed because I have simply seen a reaction on social networks. This remains to be seen,"  he said.

On the other hand, leaving the mandate in this way for someone who received fewer votes, according to Braho, fundamentally violates the electoral system, as well as preferential voting, since citizens have voted for it to be represented by it.

"Regarding democracy, I believe that it is unfair that a candidate who has come out and campaigned, has been part of the open lists, receives more votes than another candidate, resigns, to make way for another candidate. This fundamentally violates the electoral system. It fundamentally violates what is known as preferential voting. But, nevertheless, this is an issue that everyone evaluates for themselves and assesses how much it affects democracy ," he said.
