Albania last for quality of life, DP: Technical government is the solution!

The Deputy Mayor of Tirana Municipal Council, Dorian Teliti, commented this Friday on the Numbeo report published two days ago, which ranked Albania 37th out of 37 European countries in terms of living standards and quality of life.

In a statement to the media, Teliti stated that wages in Albania are the lowest in Europe, while adding that prices have now gotten out of control and have become higher than the European average.

According to him, the only way to get Albania out of the crisis is to establish a caretaker government to build trust and finally guarantee free and fair elections for Albanians.

Telit's full statement:

Two days ago, another serious report assessed the quality of life in Europe and Albania. It is precisely the Numbeo report, which ranked Albania in 37th place out of 37 countries in Europe, has ranked Albania at the bottom of the list in terms of living and its quality.

According to the report, Albania is rated at only 46.3 points in the purchasing power index, the lowest on the continent, and even worse than war-torn Ukraine. Albanian families spend at least 40% of their income on food, while the European average is at least three times lower.

Also, it is we Albanians who have to work more years than anyone else in Europe to be able to buy an apartment.

Pollution continues to be extremely worrying, Albania ranks second to last. But even more worrying is the fact that we are ranked last in the quality of healthcare.

Everything we said above is not opinion, it is not propaganda, but facts that once again prove the deep poverty and the clear lack of a positive future for all Albanians.

Are these findings of the Numbeo report a coincidence? No, they are not. They are the concrete result of the arrogant and irresponsible governance of the last 12 years. Numbeo's assessment is not simply a statistical ranking, but a serious public indictment of the authors and collaborators who created Albania that does not inspire hope, but only drives Albanians away from the family nest.

Albanians want jobs, but salaries are the lowest in Europe.

Prices have already spiraled out of control, higher than the European average.

Public services are degrading day by day, education abandoned like never before, agriculture not simply forgotten, but also hit to protect the interests of some importers, the bankruptcy of Albanian manufacturing enterprises, endemic corruption with property, tenders and public funds, etc., are clearly the bitter reality that we Albanians live with and international reports formalize in their assessments and positions.

Dear citizens, the solution does not come through fine words, or empty promises, or false reforms. The only way to get Albania out of the crisis is the immediate establishment of a caretaker government to build trust and finally guarantee free and fair elections for Albanians.

Only through a technical government freed from political control, only through a credible electoral process, will Albanians be able to choose the future they deserve. Only in this way will the country be put on the track of sustainable development, only in this way will a real, competitive and inclusive economy be created. And above all, only in this way will Albania truly become ready for integration into the European Union.
