Kyle Walker joins English club on two-year deal

Burnley have made a big move in the transfer market, making Kyle Walker official. The 35-year-old right-back has signed a two-year contract with the club, thus closing a glorious chapter at Manchester City, where he won everything on the domestic and international arena.

Walker, known for his speed, experience and leadership, has chosen Burnley as the next challenge in his career, convinced by the ambitious project of coach Scott Parker. “When I spoke to Scott and heard his plans for next season, it was an opportunity that I jumped at immediately,” said Walker, after the official presentation. “Scott has done an amazing job here, leading the club back to the Premier League. Now we are looking forward, together, to being back in the biggest league in the world, at the best level.”

Burnley, who returned to the top flight after a spectacular season in the Championship, are looking to build on their success and defensive record from last season. Walker is expected to be a key element in that project. “Burnley had an incredible campaign last season, built on an incredible defensive record, so I’m looking forward to getting involved and adding my experience, my quality to what looks to be an exciting squad,” Walker concluded.

A new chapter begins for the former Milan defender recently (on loan with the Red and Blacks since January), who is ready to lead Burnley towards survival and new ambitions in the Premier League.
