The football world is still shocked by the tragic loss of Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva, victims of a road accident. 

The loss has also affected Liverpool, the club where Jota played for 5 seasons.

The English club, which had already announced the decision to symbolically retire the number 20 shirt in memory of the late player, has decided to make another gesture of great human value.

Liverpool will pay the family of the late striker the entire salary stipulated in the contract (around 15 million euros), until its expiration in June 2027.

Jota, originally from Gondomar, had left an indelible mark on the recent history of the "Reds", making a decisive contribution to winning the Premier League and scoring, among other things, the winning goal in the derby against Everton last April.
